Reflection
This assignment is a big challenge for me because I haven’t done this long video. The topic I have chosen is Artificial intelligence. I like watching films in my free time, especially the science fiction film. I think Ai is not just about the film now. Over the past 50 years, this technology made great progress and the artificial narrow intelligence is already part of our life. Things like car navigation, getting recommendations from the Netflix, ask Siri about the weather are all about artificial intelligence.
It is getting more and more realistic because of the progress of technologies. So I want to talk about is by the structure. Firstly I used a history of ai to show the reason why we develop ai. And I cut to the opening. Which has lots of elements about the topic I will talk and the method I will use? When I intruding my self to the audience I used a Siri voice to say: I am Siri, here to help. I think it is interesting because it can give the audience an idea about what will I talk about.
After I introduced myself I used a few examples to talk about the different ai in movies which is Wall E. And I used myself to be the example. I talked about the movie I watched when I was a boy and what is ai for me at that time. I think the story is better than the information and it can attract the audience. Maybe the audience has seen this movie then they will feel the same thing I feel. I like the villain in the wall E, It showed a possibility of Ai.
The next step is to define Ai. I researched online and I found John McCarthy coined the Artificial intelligence, which was defined by 1955. I think it is amazing. At that time the technologies are not like today. The studies are very hard. After I explained the definition, I used the theory to subdivided into three major types
- 1.Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)
- 2.Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
- 3.Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)
The introduction of the three types. I add the picture I found on Flickr and the screenshot on my phone. I used lots of screenshot in my video because I want to simulate the daily use. When we are using Ai we may not notice. I want to tell people They are using Ai already. Don’t be afraid of Ai. It is just on the narrow intelligence. We can use it well.
I explained we are using Ai now and it is already part of our life. And I said something I see on the Reddit. It is a great website I never used it before.
I found ABC news which gives me lots of ideas to make this video. It also said some disadvantages about Ai and I used them in my video. For conclusion, I left a question to the audience. Because I saw lots of YouTubers are doing this. It does make the audience think. It is great.
I think this assignment has made a lot of progress for me. I’ve been doing a seven-minute video, which has practiced my editing skills and speed. I’m not just recording my speech with a camera, I can also make the video more interesting with clips. There is a lot to talk about artificial intelligence. During this assignment, I have learned how to quickly find the materials and contents I want, learned a lot of knowledge about artificial intelligence and had opinions on this matter. In fact, during this time, I think the most important thing to do video is the early stage plan and the later stage execution. The early-stage plan can make the video not disorderly, but also can be organized. As for editing software, this course enabled me to learn final cut by myself. Moreover, I hope to try other editing software in the future and improve my skills through continuous learning. This course also taught me to use creative common to find images. Although it was a bit difficult at first, because many good images were protected by copyright, I could not use them. But then I also found a lot of photos available by searching.
I like this unit, it makes me feel I am improving my skill. When I do the first assignment, I feel nervous to talk to the camera. Now I feel much confident. When I shot my first video I used two days to get all the A-roll. But This time I only used one day to shot the a-roll.
I want to be a director in the future, so the process of editing and designing is a very important learning experience for me. This is the first step on the ideal front, which is the introductory course. Learning Bunsen is a process of continuous improvement, a battle without end, and a battle between yourself and yourself. I believe that the flexible use of this basic knowledge will help me in the future.
